How to improve 9600m GT notebook's gaming performance?

Is there anything I can do to increase my notebook's gaming performance?

Intel Core 2 Duo CPU P8600 @ 2.40 GHz

4 GB RAM

GeForce 9600M GT

I have played games like WoW, FFXI and Dragon Age on very high settings without any problems; however, I got a horrible score on the new FFXIV benchmark test and am wondering how I can improve my performance.

Oh, and I'm running Windows Vista SP1 32-bit.

Thanks.|||First of all you should update your operating system. There have been many updates since Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista. Once your operating system is up to date, update your DirectX from here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai鈥?/a> Next download and install these custom drivers: http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/2鈥?/a>

i have a warrior and am level 11, how high should i put my constistution, dexerity, and strength? any other tips for being pretty much untouchable? haha im a dwarf warrior and juaggernaut and dragon blood armor and starfang, what is the best sheild and whats better also dual weild. 2 hand or sheild and sword? thanks|||As a warrior there's 2 main things you can go into:

You can be the tank of the group (sword and shield), in which case bring up strength and constitution equally, but focus on constitution for health (bring cunning up to 16 for persuasion, it's important). In this role, your job is to keep all of the enemies attacking you while your group destroys the enemies.

Alternatively be a dps in the group (either two handed or dual blades depending on which you prefer, the two handed hits harder but much slower, the dual blades do less damage but attack extremely quickly; they both even out to about the same overall damage), and bring up strength and constitution equally, with cunning also at 16. In this role, your job is to attack the ever-living s*** out of whatever's attacking your tank (Alistair or the Mabari are the tanks, imo the dog's better)

As for which weapons/shields are the best, they'll increase in quality as you level up, so equip the items based whatever the highest tier you have available and what the stats are.|||If you wanna be untouchable, don't play the game, problem solved!

Computer randomly starts lagging on ALL games, good specs, Windows 7 problem?

Okay so my computer is a decent computer for it's time

    4GB Ram

    Nvidia Geforce 9500 gt

AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 250u processor (2 CPUs), ~1.6 GHz (not the best but it gets the work done)

And basically I used to be able to run pretty high end games with minimal lag, I could run Dragon Age Origins on highest settings with perfect FPS. The problem recently is that just out of the blue ALL my games lag, even games as simple as Minecraft start to lag after a few minutes. I tried to open my computer and take out the graphics card and RAM to clean it out and reinserted them and still no luck. It seems when I go over a certain amount of memory on my RAM it just basically breaks and I get like 5 FPS. On games like Dragon age Origins, TF2, Dead Rising 2, Dead Space, etc. (only ones I've tried) just instantly start out with horrible frame rate, and they even slow my entire computer down so much that my mouse lags. I'm unsure of what the problem is here, I've updated my drivers and have done as much as my knowledge allows me to do. I go to dxdiag and it still detects the 4gb ram and the graphics card so I can assume they're both fine, and it has no errors or anything of the like.

If you don't want to read all that, basically my computer runs slow for no reason and I need to find a solution. I've googled a lot but all I find is "Incompatibility" but the games USED to be just fine on this exact computer with these exact specs, it seems now I can only play flash games without lag, oh the horror. My browser is just fine, and nothing except games seems to be bothered by this, but I think it has to do something with RAM usage. So has anyone seen this before? Is this a common problem or did I do something wrong? And no it's not a virus, I reformatted because I was intending to reformat and this gave me a reason to, and the same problems persisted.

tl;dr Computer bad, need help. :V|||Could be bad RAM, could be a the graphics card starting to go, could be overheating... Might even be your power supply failing to deliver enough juice and the card automatically downclocking itself to compensate.

Have you blasted the fans clean with compressed air (on both the 9500GT and CPU coolers)?

I'd definitely run a temperature monitoring program to see if things change dramatically when your framerates fall through the floor.

It could simply be that with updates to the game (and windows itself), your hardware is starting to struggle, although I wouldn't expect such a dramatic change. A 9500GT certainly isn't great for any of those titles, but is should be fine at medium settings.

http://hothardware.com/Articles/ATI-Rade鈥?/a>|||i have the same processor as you and the same problem. i would try the compressed air thing and hose it down.

    |||You have been using Windows 7 all this time or what do you mean not bad for its time as in you had xp on it when the games played right.|||The only possible way to deal with such kind of lag is to add hardware and software capacity of your system. You should get a better Graphic Card and download Reginout to sort out this issue. A powerful system should be less laggy and one can enjoy gmaes much more.|||Those are NOT good specs.

A 9500 gt and an athlon x2 at 1.6 GHz is not decent at all.

You may want to try to upgrade. Games get patched to get better graphics, so their hardware requirements rise.

Can I run most games decently on this PC?

I'm not looking to run every game ever at the highest possible settings, but I would like to be able to run most new games with at least somewhat good settings and most older games at the highest settings possible. If I could run something like Dragon Age 2 on high settings I would be more than content with it.|||Yes, I highly recommend a higher speed quad for less $$ though which will perform better|||AMD is a CPU based on power not speed, so you can run most graphically games. My PC is almost the same as you and I can run almost new and important games without problems.

I have an ATI Radeon 5770, I have it overclocked to 940MHZ GPU and 1400MHZ memory?

It's running at 43C while playing a DX11 game on high settings (Dragon Age 2) in a fight scene, I benchmarked it overnight, it was averaging 49C and peaked out at 61C, are these temps acceptable for a GPU? Benchmarked with Furmark|||I don't believe you. You've added 90 MHz to the GPU, and 200 MHz to the memory, and are only running at 109.4掳F while playing? Unless you're watercooling, I call BS... 141.8掳F (61掳C) sounds more like what you would see from a video card overclocked that much while playing.|||Whether you like it or not, I DID answer your question. I said 61掳C was more appropriate for your settings. However, are you really playing with really high settings? AF is OFF, resolution is LOW, and limiting the game to 60 FPS doesn't sound like very high to me. Average at best.

So my recommendation to you is to get that computer and play it! Dragon Age is an awesome game no doubt.|||Yes it should play them on medium settings no bother if not on high settings and should all work perfectly fine just make sure you have all the latest updates for your computer. ave aint tried windows 7 yet but know that they would work on that computer with xp and vista installed so i should aint see how windows 7 would be a problem|||check ur specs to any cpu game at --http://cyri.systemrequirementslab.com/srtest/intro.aspx

    64-bit

    4.00GB RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce GT 240

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7500 @ 2.93GHz

I posted a question yesterday asking "What do I need to run Dragon Age II at MAX graphics?" and alot of you said my setup was fine I just needed to upgrade my GPU. So I'v narrowed it down to the nVidia GTS450 since its the cheapest and only one in stock. This will cost about $200, I just want to verify that this is exactly what I need...

I went to canyourunit.com and it said I needed a new CPU...? Also how much would this take to get installed in because I really cant do this myself so my best option is to get someone else to do it (A professional). The highest I can run the game at currently is high. Any higher and I either get late reactions or glitch spikes.

i tried looking for one with some dedicated memory...and not the stupid ones where its intergrated into the damn mother-board.

so i will list the specs below. My conclusion is yes it should run DAO on around MEDIUM-HIGH settings but please correct me if im wrong. and im not sure how much dedicated memory it takes to run DAO.

    Processor Brand AMD

Processor Platform AMD VISION A6 APU

    Processor Speed 2.4GHz

    Video Memory Up to 2037MB

Can I run games like Crysis and Dragon Age Origins on top spec/ high spec?|||Don't think you can get playable FPS on the highest settings (for Crysis anyway, not sure about Dragon Age), but a couple steps down from extreme shouldn't be a problem with that setup.|||No problem, enjoy your games|||AMD sucks!|||Go to (pc pit stop)....and click on ..test my computer...its free...and they will check your graphics card also !

Intel Integrated G945 graphics card 256 MB.

Note that several games to which my PC doesn't meet the requirements.. .STILL RUN ON MY PC --

gta 4 requires dual cores, but runs on my PC fluidly. Other games which run in high settings are sims 3, nfs carbon etc etc.

    P.S.%26gt; Is ARMA any good?

Thanks :)|||You CAN run it, but the quality would be pretty poor.

    I recommend upgrading these things:

    Your graphics card

    Your RAM

Both incredibly easy to buy and upgrade, depending on your budget.

First you need at least 4 GB of RAM.

Buy 1x2 DDR2 RAM stick. Ask your local computer shop for the best brand.

Install video link on at the bottom.

Secondly you can get a new graphics card with possibly 512 MB. ATI or Nvidia is your call.

Installing the video card is easy once you get it.

Hope this helps. Remember, you don't HAVE to change the hardware, you still may be able to play it.

both cards require at least a 350W power supply (it's sufficient regardless of what else is written) provided you haven't a lot of hard drives and other fancy stuff.|||Before selecting a graphics card you should tell us what type of power supply you have. Do so by opening up the panel on your computer and looking at the sticker on the power supply. The 12v rails and what amps they have is the important part. But most of the time all you need to know is how many watts you have. Then make sure you have enough watts.

Otherwise your computer will shut off when the graphics card starts to need any juice|||Everything's fine except the GPU. Skyrim or Saints Row the Third?

Yes I know it's a silly question and both games are incomparable. I'm huge when it comes to RPG, but I love sandbox games as well. From what I've heard, Saints Row is that kind of game where you just sit back and play to have fun and put those stress levels down whereas Skyrim is that game where it's all about the main story and quests and of course battling with dragons which is just awesome cause I haven't gone against a dragon since Dragon Age 2's high dragon at the Bone Pit.

Anyone who has both games that can give me their opinions?|||Skyrim without a doubt. Its the best game that has come out in a long time, the graphics are outrageous, and there is over 500 or something hours of game play. Saints row is fun to chill to and shoot people, but Skyrim is a history making game that will always be remembered, and you'll be a scrub for not playing it.

    Choose Wisely :P|||Skyrim NO doubt

This new saints row that just came out looks and is WAYy to unrealistic and cartoony i hate it, for my open world ,car stealing, random people killing experiences id stick to Grand Theft Auto series.|||Skyrim is much better than Saints Row the Third also skyrim is also sandbox is not all about the main story and quests|||skyrim is good for a long time its alot to do and saints row the third is also good game if like crazy stuff then you should buy that|||skyrim is boring and the game has alot of bugs which cause lag.fps problems

    Windows 7

I have a 1080p monitor and just want to know that this setup will play games like Crysis, Fallout 3 Dragon Age etc at a High Resolution.

Thanks in advance for your replies.|||Those cards are pretty fast DX10 mainstream cards. They can run many games at high resolution BUT not at high game settings. It is really the high-end cards (%26gt;$200) that are capable of running Crysis at high game settings and high resolution.

If you want a graphics card that is more future-proof, better get a DX11 card since Windows 7 supports DX11. Consider the ATI HD 5770 or the cheaper HD 5750.|||Go for the GTS250 if you really want to enjoy gaming (Specially if you are a gaming freak looks like one) The advantage of buying expensive video cards is the longevity of being obsolete. I'm now in Act 2, and I know that the NPC you're romancing is supposed, at some point, to come to Hawke's estate at night. Problem is I just got Isabela coming to me, whereas it's Fenris that I wanted. I've chosen all the possible flirt options with Fenris, and his friendship score is higher than with Isabela. Have I screwed up the romance with Fenris and he's not gonna show up at the house now?|||You have to complete "bitter pill", one of Fenris's quests before he will show up to talk with you. Go anywhere outside of Kirkwall with him in the party to trigger it. Once that quest is done he will come speak with you and you can spend the night with him.

If that doesn't work then you must not have selected the broken heart option with Isabela to officially end the romance. The game may think you are still together.|||no you haven't screwed

So I face 3 lots of enimies, i have 2 mages and a rouge with me, no problem. Then i get to the final part, spiders are respawning constantly and some higher levelled character attacks as well.

Iv'e tried this several times now, but always fail. I try new tactics everytime, and have even lowerered the diffifculty to casual just to try get past this. But all fails.

Am i using my character and its abbillties to potentional? I am on level 10, have not really checked out new armour or anything in the shops, just done the main quests and side quests.

Any help would be appreciated, love the game, don't want to put it down.

ps. this is my first rpg styled game like this.|||You can't be on those two quests at the same time. You must still be earning the coin you need to join the expedition. Once you leave for the deep roads expedition, that completely cuts you off from all the other quests in Act 1.

The quest you are having trouble with is a fight that will repeat often in the game, as far as monsters and strategy is concerned.

If you are a mage, then you should have access to Aveline, Carver, and possibly Fenris by now. Drop Merrill from the team - she doesn't get scary powerful until later levels. Put Fenris, Aveline, or Carver in her place - whichever of them you have given talents to taunt enemies and withstand or dish out melee damage.

You need AoE - area of effect spells/abilities, and a proper 'tank' - a melee character whose job it is to focus enemy aggression on them and away from the characters with weaker defenses, like mages.

I will assume that your Hawke and Anders are both equipped with AoE talents. Different ones, hopefully. Firestorm and Tempest are a good choice. If you have Varric or Sebastian, and they have Hail of Arrows, this is also a good AoE. Drop one or two AoE into the bulk of the enemies, and send the rogue and melee characters to mop up the survivors. If someone tries to engage a mage, have the mage use Mind Blast, or Cone of Cold to discourage it, or if you are a Force mage use a spell to throw them back.

If that doesn't work, send your tank to deal with whatever is trying to eat the mages, while the rogue keeps killing things.

If an enemy caster appears, kill it first, with extreme prejudice. If you have a mage with Crushing Prison, drop that on enemy spell casters, Revenanths and similar baddies to tie them up and hurt them while a melee rogue or fighter can pound on them.

Go for combos - enemies stunned by a warrior are easy pickings for a rogue or AoE mage spells. Enemies paralyzed or brittle from mage spells are easy prey for warriors.

And yes - make sure you change our your party weapons and accessories to the best you have on hand. You shouldn't have to spend anything at this point, but anything is better than your starting weapons.|||If you haven't done all side quest id do other ones gain more experience first, then come back to that part or just put it on easy.|||what are you and name your available allies

Dragon Age 2 items ? Need to know what it exactly means ?

Sorry it's really really long I know but I need your help. I loves this game but there is no 100% explanation of what it really does. I want to know and use them. Not just "GUESS" which is better and which will do what.

    +2 health regeneration

How many health does it regen per second ?

If I have like +10 health ring and +2 health regen, which is better ? Looks like regen is but I'm not sure if +2 health regen is every 10 seconds or what ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +2 mana/stamina regeneration

Same question for the health regen. Wonder per what sec it regens so I can choose between

    +10 mana/stamina or +2 mana/stamina

I've seen warrior ability rally having +200 mana/stamina and it increases really fast. So I always do bolst and give mages mana. lol Awesome strategy. especially Aveline's just a tank, she doesn't need stamina.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +22% healing to this character

So does this mean if I get this +22% healing to this character amulet, Anders healing spells

give +22% health more or does it mean when Hawke has this Amulet and if Anders cast heal on Hawke, Hawke will gain +22% health unlike other of my companions cause I have this amulet ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +3% attack speed

Is this any good ? I mean 3% ? Does it even have a change ?

What should I choose between a sword damage 20 and another sword damage 17 but it has +3% attack speed ? and why ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7% physical damage

So does this mean it increases the sword damage by 7% or the characters every psysical damage ?

If there was a sword damage 20 with +7% physical damage and a sword damage 27 which is better ? Al though 7% won't be just +7 damage of a sword.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +10 armor

If there is a shield with armor 20 with +10 armor and another shield with armor 30 are these shields

the same quality ? Or does it mean the armor 20 shield was previously armor 10 but became 20 because of +10 armor ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +400 nature resistance

What's this whole resistance thing ? I know it's decreases the magic damage but do enemies ever use nature magic ? So if it's +500 fire resistance, do I become like invisible to fires ? I want to know how much damage it decreases. I have seen like 2% fire resistance but 500% seems insane.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7 nature damage across 2m

This was from a bow. I think 2m is pretty short. So if I shoot one, the other guy at the back will only get 7 nature damage on them ? But I'd have to use archers' lance so I can penetrate them right ?

or does it just deal +7 even if I just use normal attacks ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +59 attack

It's not +59 damage, it's just attack rating right ? Are these really important ? Everybody says

only rogue needs dexterity for damage and warrior needs strength. But if warrior really only puts attributes on strength and none on dex, how could they ever hit the enemies ? I think these +attacks

are useless unless you're a rogue. I never seen warriors missing their hits on enemies.

Do rogues gain even damage and not just attack rating if they have this ?

I've also seen mage items with +attacks. Doesn't mages have 100% attack rating, since it's a magic ? (Maybe I played diablo too much? lol)

Are these + attacks mean not just attack rating as in failing of attack and dealing 0 damage on enemies but attack rating as kind of dealing decreased damage ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    -6 threat generation

Is this useful ? I got a mage boots. I think this will make enemies less want to attack me but -6...is 6 a useful number ?

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +4 fortitude

THe more fortitude is higher, I won't get critical damage, stunned or blowed away ?

Is +4 any useful ? sounds like +0.00001 fortitude. very useless. lol|||Health Regeneration %26amp; Mana/Stamina Regeneration

The thing about heath regeneration and mana/stamina regeneration is that your character already has a stat regarding how much you regenerate per. second. So if you choose 2+ health regeneration, that stat will rise with 2.

There are two different kinds of health regeneration and mana/stamina regeneration. There is one for when you're in combat, and there's one for when you're exploring. When in combat, you're health regeneration stat is at 0, but when you're exploring, it's on 10. Combat regeneration heals you every 2 seconds, so if you have 2 in health regeneration, you get 2+ in hit points pr. 2 seconds. When you're exploring, you're healed every third second. You can't have more than 20 health regeneration points all in all.

With stamina, you have a regeneration rate of 1 when in combat, and one of 17.5 when out of combat. I hope that helps.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +22% Healing to this character

This means that when using spells or poultices on the character wearing the amulet, the spell or poultice will be 22% more effective. A health poultice heals 60% of a characters health, but when wearing this amulet, that percentage is forced up to 82%.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +3% attack speed

As it is a percentage we're dealing with, this is obviously better when a character with an already high attack speed uses it. 3% can be a lot if the character is already swift, but used on a slow warrior or mage, it won't make a noticeable difference.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7% physical damage

Again, as with above, this is only useful with a character who already possesses a high physical damage. Physical damage simply means that it will only enforce attacks of non-elemental form, whereas 7% fire damage, would enforce a mage's fireball attacks and his fire elemental staff.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +10 armor

A shield with 20 in armor and 10+ armor, is as good as a 30 armor shield, yes.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +400 nature resistance

I'm pretty sure this is supposed to be +400% nature resistance?

Assuming that this is correct, I'll continue. Yes, you're right about what nature resistance is. You're more resistant to any damage of nature type. This simply adds to your nature resistance which you can find in your character's profile, you know, where you also go to when you want to level up. So if you only have one nature resistance point, +400% nature resistance will only give you 4 more points. Each point approximately means that you'll take one less percentage of damage of that given form of attack, in this case, nature.

I'm pretty sure the 2% fire resistance amulet/armor/whatever was actually 2+ fire resistance.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +7 nature damage across 2m

The description of this may be misleading, but this is actually pretty useful. It deals +7 nature damage to all enemies in a 2 meters radius of the target.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    +59 attack

Attack determines your accuracy, so this is only important for warriors and rogues since, as you stated, mages NEVER miss an attack. So basically, this has nothing to do with damage, it's just whether or not you hit the enemy. And as a sidenote, you've probably leveled your warriors in a good way, if you've never seen them miss an attack. They must already have a decent attack stat then.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    -6 threat generation

The threat system is pretty complicated, so I'm going to leave you a link in the sources, for you to check up on it yourself.

    ----------------------------------

    +4 fortitude

The higher your fortitude, the less a chance to get stunned or knocked back, as you said. +4 isn't bad. It's the same as 400% assuming you have 1 fortitude point already. If you have plenty of fortitude points, +4 won't make that much of a difference, true.

    --------------------------------------鈥?br>

    I hope this helped.

Whate are the best stats for Blood mage/Force mage in Dragon Age 2?

I know I should improve constitution and magic but what about other attributes? If I don't put any into willpower or STR etc will I not be able to use some higher level equipment? Also what equipmnet should I use? (armor-wise mostly) In the original Dragon Age I only put into CON and Magic, (and some to dexterity since I aspired to be a dual-wielding arcane/battle/blood mage, probably not the most efficient way but damn I was awesome with my seven buffs and flaming sword and dagger, killing enemies before they could even reach me).|||I had just finished the game with a force mage. My recommendation is to buff up on your Constitution and Willpower. At the end of the game, with 31 willpower you would be able to use the Champions Armor which is Awesome!!!! Plus, since youre going to the Blood mage route, you would need LOTs of Health (which is Constitution).

Honestly, in my opinion the only kick *** power for the blood mage is "Hamorrhage". Others you can do without. So, you dont really need to spend your health that much to cast magic. I much rather spend the attribute points on Pull of the Abyss (Force) or even better Gravity Ring (Force). Other Force spells are not that useful. What i did was i spend most of my points on elementals (Firestorm, cone of cold ect.)

As for Armor, I love armors which has mana regeneration......which is why Armor of champions is soo damn cool. By the end of the game, my mana regeneration was soo fast, that I couldnt even notice it depletes even after casting gazillions of spells!!! This gonna help if you gonna cast sustaining defensive spells like Arcane Armor or Barrier on your warriors (which helped me during the High Dragon fight).

Is there a big difference between GeForce 9600 GT 1GB and GeForce 9800 GT 1GB? (Quick responses, please?)?

Both are PNY Nvididia cards. The 9800 is $30 more. My fiance has it for his computer, and now he can play most, if not all, of his games on the highest settings. Should I spend the extra $30 to get the 9800? Is it worth it? Games I currently play: Oblivion (lowest settings), Guild Wars (almost highest), Dragon Age (lowest). Games I'd like to play when they're released: Guild Wars 2, Diablo 3.

Quick responses are greatly appreciated. In about an hour, I have to go to a place without internet for a few days, and I'd really like to order before I head out.|||The 9800 is worth the extra money-I have it and it's great. • Am I the only one who liked Anders from Dragon Age 2?

Okay, I was playing a- though there is no morality bar but you get the picture- Renegade Pro-Mage (a Mage himself) Hawke. Sure, Anders annoyed me whenever I mentioned Blood Magic and he got all high-horsed but I always supported him whenever we were dealing with mages and apostates. When he blew up the Chantry I was like "OMG! WOW! FINALLY SOMEONE DOES IT!". I even asked him why he didn't tell me his plan before because I would have helped. Like, come on people, I know in real life killing isn't acceptable but there are PLENTT of people whom play Renegade/evil characters in DA2 so why does Anders get so much hate for what he did? I loved that plot twist and would have had my Hawke done it sooner and bigger if I could. Just for that, Anders became my second favorite character (behind Isabela). When Sebastian demanded Anders be killed I told him "Screw you, you high-horse, hypocritical ***. Bring your damn army- WHICH, if it weren't for me you wouldn't have one- I'll destroy each and every one of them with my magic and then Anders and I will blow your palace up just like he did the Chantry". Seriously, the Chantry had it coming too by enslaving innocent Mages and enforcing their religion on society. It was as if the Catholic church was in power again and they had law-enforcing knights. If anything, Taventer has the right idea more so than the Chantry here does.|||Count me in.|||yep i hate anders with a passion more so than i did alistair in dao

I recently Installed Dragon age 2 on my pc and about five minutes into the game it stopped working?

and shut off I then Uninstalled and reinstalled the game back on to my pc I also added the latest version of Direct x to my pc along with it it worked fine and then the problem came back My graphics and processor shouldnt be the issue here there more than capable of handling the game on high settings the only problem might be my operating system Im using a 32 bit win 7 professional if that is the problem how can I fix it or work around it??|||Yes. I think with 64 bit win7 you will not get THIS problem.

    Dragon Age 2 Ending, Fenris?

Ok so I didn't romance Fenris but I sided with mages consistently and got a pretty damn high Rivalry score with him. But it didn't max out. My question is, is there any way to get him to side with me in the final battle or have I royally screwed up? And if there is a way what dialog option to I have to take. (I tried the "Join me" option and he basically said no way in hell.)|||There is no other way to keep a Rivaled Fenris to stay on your side than to max his Rival bar.

The only thing I think you can do is to go back to previous saves and try to max Fenris friendship/rivalry through gameplay

If you don't mind using in-game editing tools or player mods, then you can alter the relationship status manually. (Though not recommended by me)|||Pick the right options that has the golden heart sign on it to romance him when ever you see the golden heart with that answer select it that way he might fall in love with you.

    Dragon Age 2 character creation?

I'm trying to decide what type of character I want. I prefer high damage dealers that won't be ridiculously easyily overrun by enemies. Dps but with slight solo abilities. I'm leaning towards rogue or mage, but I don't have any concrete thoughts yet. I'm familer with this style of game as well as party management style (tank healer dps the likes). I would like some view on pros and cons on types by people, from their experience. I read the guide and the introductory book inside, but I want more from experience views, instead of broad vague statements...I will eventually try but what should I start with? Thanks in advance|||The rouge class is good for both solo and group types of fighting it also helps if u r getting smashed by a boss or something because if u need u go invisible and move away and u can heal your self but if u like being extremely OP then pick mage.|||http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/鈥?/a>

Follow this guide for a shadow archer. I have played every other class, but this build is hands down my favorite. It's very versatile and makes the most efficient use of the bow. The guide is very thorough and will even tell you what gear to buy. I have managed to solo a few of the harder fights with it such as that demon you release from the tomes.|||The class I had no trouble with was a rogue archer. I invested points into the assassin, archery, specialist trees and other abilities that increased damage for critical hits. While I played this class I hardly ever got overrun by enemies.

Is there a way to increase Frame Rate For Dragon Age 2?

    Here are my specs

    -AMD Phenom(tm) II x4 830 Processor (2.8GHz)

    -6GB Ram

    -Nvidia GeForce 9500 GT

    -Windows 7 64bit

I have to run it with Directx 9 (I have the latest Directx 11 SDK, so I don't think %26lt;--- is the problem) Rendering on Medium Graphics but it's still a bit Choppy. I've read that quite a bit of people have been having problems with lag on this game, even with some High End Graphics cards. Are there any solutions to this problem?|||Im not much of a dragon age or MMO gamer, but I can answer your question.

You do not have any ability to play DX11, your 9500gt supports DX9 and DirectX10. With your current graphics card, you may need to drop any Anti-Aliasing, details, and shadows to get more frames per second. Basically, it will be playable, but not at an enjoyable one.

Dragon Age the game may have a few bugs that the developers have not gotten to fix. My best suggestion would be to check out other players either via youtube or some type of benchmark forum and see what they get from a better graphics card. That will determine if you may need to get a more modern graphics card that will be able to take the game engine at reasonable results.

Are "Entropy" spell any good in Dragon age 2 ?

I used Horror which was upgraded to despair.

    Duration: 10s

Stun chance: 100% vs any enemy

Spirit damage: 4.5x every 1s (I had spirit damage 128 every second so it means 1280 spirit damage but it dealt not much.

Even crushing prison damage is 720 and when staggered 2 times more but it deals not much.

Maybe most enemies have high spirit and physical damage resistance ? I'm pretty sure most enemies have defence and armor so they do for physical.|||Yes. I find the entropy trees work much better than in DA:O It's very good for weakening enemies for another character to perform a ccc

Will this run Dragon Age 2?

Will this setup have any problems with DA2 or other FPS's like that?

    CPU: AMD Phenom鈩I X4 965 Black Edition Quad-Core CPU w/ HyperTransport Technology [+66]

    HDD: 1TB SATA-II 3.0Gb/s 16MB Cache 7200RPM HDD (Single Hard Drive)

VIDEO: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 1GB 16X PCIe Video Card [+131] (Major Brand Powered by NVIDIA)|||Yeah, that will run it very well, if not maxed

To above: An AMD 6 core will not be better for gaming, in fact it may be worse due to the lower clock speed|||That should be able to run it at almost Max Settings. You've actually got a very decent system. The only things that you could really improve is the amount of RAM in your system and maybe your Video Card. Your Video Card isn't bad, but there are a few other ones out there that would outperform it. You could also jump up to a 6 Core Processor without too much of an investment. But as it sits, you can easily run Dragon Age 2.

Why is dragon age 2 running slower than crysis 2 on my computer?

I recently got both games, and i recently got a new video card, so i cranked up the settings on both as high as they would go, and lo and behold, i was running at 40 fps on DA2 and 60 fps on Crysis 2. Here are my system specs:

    Dell Studio XPS 8100

    Intel Core i5 CPU 650 @ 3.2GHz

    Nvidia Geforce GTX 460

    8 gigs of ram

    Directx 11

    Windows 7

I was really hoping to crank the heck out of DA2 and put in texture mods and stuff like i did for Fallout 3/New Vegas, Oblivion, and Morrowind. I can run just about any game I've thrown at it maxed out and modded out except DA2. any solutions? I've tried the Large Address Aware flag but that is already there on DA2. Is this just a poorly optimized craptastic console port?|||Here's my solution, Overclocking. Depending on your cooling, is how good you can overclock your card. This will help the performance part.

The reason DA2 is a little slower is because it may work better with a Quad core. The cpu your using right now is only 2 cores.

Otherwise, its just The actual game itself, 40 FPS isnt bad at all, thats where the images start looking really nice.|||To make Dragon Age 2 run faster, make sure no any service is running in the background that adversely affects its performance.

    - Download Reginout, which is a service managing software.

    - Install, run it.

    - Click "Optimize Services" button.

The task will be performed automatically.|||Overlock %26amp; download reginout to improve performance for gaming.

I plan to get a new computer for Dragon Age II could you tell if the specs are good enough?

    My budget isn't that high so I'll just lay out what I've picked, could you just tell me if they're good enough: Processor: I7 960 3.2, Video: Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 RAM: 4-6 GB?|||Well how much HDD gb do you have they recommended 20gb but heres the minimum;

    Minimum-

CPU: Intel Core 2 (or equivalent) running at 1.6Ghz or greater

AMD X2 (or equivalent) running at 2.2GHZ or greater

    RAM: 1.5 GB or more

Video: ATI Radeon X1550 256MB or greater

NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB or greater

    DVD ROM (Physical copy)

    20 GB HD space

    Recommend-

CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz Processor or equivalent

RAM: 4 GB (Vista) or 2 GB (XP)

Video: ATI 3850 512 MB or greater

NVIDIA 8800GTS 512 MB or greater

    DVD ROM (Physical copy)

    20 GB HD space

So yeah thats good enough if you have a decent amount of space on your HDD because that game uses a lot. hope this helped|||Your not putting enough info in your question.|||That set up will have no issues at all with DA2. Happy gaming!

Any help would be great, thx!|||I don't think it needs to be at quite 100. As long as either your friendship or rivalry is high enough you will get a dialogue option which will convince him to change sides. Just try to talk to him after he sides with Meredith and give him the line about slavery.

But, if you don't have it high enough for even that you will need to either side with the templars, kill him, or reload.|||The first play through, I don't think I had 100% rivalry with Fenris and found a second point after the confrontation with Meredith when the Chantry was destroyed. He leaves the party if I recall, then everyone regroups with the mages and Orsino tells you to talk to your people.

At 100% friend or rival, Fenris automatically supports you, regardless of your choice. At less than 100%, but high enough (I don't know how much enough is, I'm afraid) you can speak to Fenris and convince him that considering his feelings for slavery, he should help you fight to free the mages from a similar fate. That got him back in the fold and on the team for the last battles.

I've never been in the position that the relationship is so bad that I had to fight him. If that's the case, there is nothing else for it but to replay Act 3 and work on that relationship some more.|||2 is pretty much your only option.

Also, support the Templars when it comes to that time or he will likely leave you even if he does like you. Don't take him on any quests that involve you playing nice with mages...that doesn't mean you cannot be nice to them at all, just don't take him along if you do. You may want to flirt/romance him, too, in order to get friendship.

100% friendship is a very tall order. I wouldn't be so anxious to keep that. You can get some good rivalry bonuses. Also, the main theme throughout the game is betrayal and how it WILL happen whether you're nice or not.

Can you please help me name my characters!?

Here are three characters that I am finding extremely hard to name...can you help me out?

    1. Main Character protaganist-female

appearance-blonde hair but on left side she has a dark streak. (she was born with black hair but after her mother's mysterious death-her majority of her hair turned blonde) Fair skinned...Her eyes are amber. She is about 5'6" age 17. High School Senior Birthday is April 20th... She wears her hair in a ponytail-black streak out...and simple diamond dangling earrings.

Personality and abilities- being the only girl in the house, she exhibits motherly duties by looking over her oldest brother (who is legally blind), cleaning, and is known for being a great cook. She is a very friendly person and tries to help others. Although, she is very beautiful, and every guy wants her...she isn't really searching for a bf. She doesn't have a great relationship with her father (chief of police) because she believes that he ignores her because of her powers and blames her for his wife's death.Though she know that she has the power to manipulate/create light, and collect and destroy all forms of energy-she continues to hide her powers...until she has an encounter with an organization of specialists that needs her help to not only save the city but to have the world. She learns how the truth about her powers, her mother's death and how to mature her powers.

    2. Supporting Character-male

appearance-light chestnut brown hair, grey eyes, medium skinned. 6'2"...average build. Tattoos on both forearms. Age 18...High School senior birthday is July 23rd. Tends to wear special black aviator sunglasses...which makes him see spirits and demons better when fighting them.

Personality and abilities-he is the 2nd heir to the leader position Alphas (a organization that has been around for centuries-that specialize in protecting the city and even the world from evil spirits and demons.) Though he bares the marks on his forearm-he is second in line to lead the organization...his older brother has no powers but still feel the need to fight. Like most of the Alphas-he doesn't have demonic powers-but he has powers that are inherited from his parents or within the family. The marks on his forearm shows where is elbow blades are...his blades can cut through anything-he can manipulate air, brief flight, super human strength (as a teenager-not as child) and unknown special abilities that he will inherit from his mother. he is a gifted fighter and is only known to be beaten by Nyssa who is also gifted in combat. At a time he was extremely angry-he punched a hole in a solid wood tree. He attends high school with character 1 and recruits her and trains her right along with (Garrison [father] Amelia [mother] and Nyssa [close friend]) He is very close to Nyssa-a 18 year old powerful female assassin with demonic powers. He has feelings for her ever since they both had to go to war at age 13. Unsure about she feels about him, he doesn't tell her...just remains friends. He is a great guy...despite his anger problems and little tiffs.

    deuteragonist-male

appearance-jet black hair shag almost type hair style blue (sapphire) eyes, age 18. 6'0" light built....tattoos on his chest-seems like a dragon. High School Senior. Birthday December 21st. Wears glasses at school...

Personality and abilities-he is quiet person, most often to himself. He is the first in his class and seems to enjoy drawing. He enjoys eating things like licorice, sushi, ramen, and chocolate. He tends to make fun of main character. He lives alone...not knowing who his parents are. He was raised by Claudius- a once powerful man that was captured by the Alphas in the war...after that...he resumed Claudius work by stealing souls (Claudius promised him that if he stole enough souls-he would reunite him with his parents. He accepted...and steals souls of those that break the law or have no reason to live. He has similar demonic powers to main character except he can control darkness, shadows. He can destroy energy but cannot create it. He engulfs his entire body in darkness...only leaving his blue eyes to glow at night. He can control his shadow in order to have some help during fights... He has a sword weapon that allows him to steals souls and fight. He is every agile and deceives people just to get a laugh.-he does team up with the Alphas after main character saves his life. His only true wish is to meet his parents. A high school junior named Tiffany stalks him...

Would this be able to run WoW on ultra, and mass effect 2/ dragon age on high?

Please give me a sort of measure to what games this can run :P

Thanks all :)|||No. And it is highly advisable that you build your own instead of buying one, especially off of eBay|||All is good except the graphics card. You could try this PC and always upgrade the video card should you think it's necessary.|||might want a better video card to run on ultra but is should run most games with decent graphics

Will dragon age 2 run on this?

Hi, before i purchase this product i was wondering if you could assis me with an enquiry about wether or not the game will work with my graphics card.

first of all i have an integrated graphics cards : Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family (approx. total memory 1326mb)

i can run Dragon age ultimate edition, which says it requires 256mb ram (for video card) for my OS, andd DA2 says it needs atleast 256 MB vram to work

because it is integrated im not sure if it will run, i dont care about having high quality graphics, i just want to make sure it will work as stores wont offer a refund if it doesnt|||http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyr鈥?/a>|||If you want to learn what games you can play from a big list, run the Can You Run It? Dragon Age 2 Deep roads expedition ? wut if I don't have 50 gold ?

What if I spend all of them ? Would I have no ways to finish the game and have to start all over ?

I'm thinking of buying some new weapons that costs like 2 souvenirs. I looked the whole map to find them and made a text file. lol 2 gold is the most expensive and best items. I haven't bought a single potion or anything yet. Even if I do, takes too long to use potions anyway so I just try many times to win.

Now I can't beat the Dragon or the other place where there are endless enemies. =[

Is it possible to do something like pokemon or diablo. I mean like go out at night roam around and then there will always be some weak enemies to gain money and exp slowly and eventually I'll become like very high level ?

Or is this game have no way to do that kind of easy way ?|||You can easily earn the 50 gold by doing all the quests available before leaving for the deep roads. There isn't anything really worth buying in the first act, so don't bother spending too much. You will loot better equipment anyway. Even potions will be easy to find on enemies. There are some random mobs that spawn at night, but this isn't really the most efficient way to earn gold.

Eventually you will get a letter at your house from a dwarf who will offer to pay your way if you really don't want to spend the gold yourself.|||You don't need the fifty sovereign. A dwarf will eventually offer to pay fro you. But if you have the dwarf pay for you you miss out on a trophy/achievement.

You can go out at night and fight random enemies on the streets for gold and xp. Also, you can set it to easy mode. Make sure your party is well rounded with at least 2 melee fighters.|||if you do not have the 50g you can not move on.

you should be able to use potions without an issue and not use ANY time in a battle.

no you can not just roam around and fight guys, they will run out eventually.

the game is easy enough. even on hard

  • Modern Warfare 2, Dragon Age Origins, or a Wii?

So for christmas this year I can get either of the following, also I have an Xbox 360 right now (Big xbox fan):

    Modern Warfare 2

    Dragon Age Origins

Wii with Resident evil or House fo the dead (classics :D)

The reason I chose to put MW2 on the list was because I loved the COD series and I'm into the war games but tired of WWII games.

The other reason I put Dragon Age on there was because I used to play World of Warcraft and still a big fan of Blizzard and WoW. So You can say I like the RTS and MMORPG games as well.

The Wii because, hey it's fun, plus I can get the new Super MArio game and classics etc. I grew up as a Nintendo fan. and still am.

Note: I am a Playstation and Sony fan as well, So you can't say I'm a hater because this game war is kinda like the Cold war. They try to race to see who gets the highest buyers and players, and I don't care, I got my own life.

Arigato In advance ^-^|||Get a Wii. Its the best of the 3 by far. Plus, it went down in price, recently. :) You can get the great games like Mario, Super Smash Brawl, etc. COD is overrated. Not sure about Dragon Age, that might be good too. But I've heard mixed reviews. The people who say the Wii sucks are the ones who've never played one.|||My personal opinion:

The 10 commandments for game developers:

    3. Thou shalt not make a game for the Wii.

My best friend recently got a massive plasma tv. He then sold his Wii because he couldn't see. The resolution was THAT BAD. Buy a XBOX360 or PC.I personally wont buy MW2 because you cant mod it, so Dragon Age is probably my choice. I have heard some good things about that game.

PS: Pick one, Xbox360 (better graphics) or PC (More keys to bind stuff to)|||A lot of people don't realize that there are some amazing tools out there to help you build up your World of Warcraft account. It doesn't matter if you are looking to level up faster or if you are trying generate gold to buy new elite armor.|||Get Modern Warfare 2, it is amazing!! Ima also get it for Christmas, but for computer. I have CoD modern warfare now and it is really good, but I bet COD modern warfare 2 is epic %26gt;%26gt; Gimme!!|||Dude so go with mw2. It is the best fps game so far. I was just posting a question on here about it. LOL. I would have to say I don't think a game will top it in 2010. Unless the mw3 comes out. Let me put it this way. My brother saw the game at my house and then the next day went and bought a ps3 and mw2 just to play it. Now he has played my cod4 and my cod5 and liked them but not enough to purchase a ps3. This game is bitchen

That is what i would do.

Why does dragon age 2 cheat at parts?

So ive been playing dragon age 2 and have noticed a pattern in improper leveling and enemy design. has anyone else had problems with the game cheating? it sets rules that u must play by like stamina magic health and basic physics and constantly breaks its own rules. for one i noticed at 3 major points only, like the giant dragon, sir templar on anders quest, and last straw quest with blood mage and shades. all having the same shitty qualities. there are way to many enemies that fight unfairly and use abilities that rnt seen or contract the rest of the game. the rest of the game is fun and has challenging parts but is pretty consistent, but these parts are not. they were made improperly and i can tell because i have done everything on my side to ensure my success. i am at the highest level, ive done all the quests, have all companions at max levels and and have outfitted myself and well as companions with best equipment, and have put runes, extra spell, and poisons on everything and everyone. i am just playing on regular too mind u. I also looked up guides and strategies to fight against these and the game defies what they say in the strategy . the rest of the game i go thru without restarting or dying except these 3 parts in which i die 99/100 times. is it a flaw in the game? i pause right before i die and notice over 20 enemies+ even after i took out a lot of the enemies, and each time they do attacks that defy the graphics such as automatic 180 or unstoppable and odd attacks that seem like someone digitally spitting in ur face, attacks hitting even when no where near, counting attacks as casted even thow they didnt work or use of health potions but no restoration of actual health and just plain dirty attacks that would be considered below the belt in any other circumstances. I just wanted to know how many others have struggled with these three parts. because the rest of the game has been pretty cake but it just seems to bottle neck at these parts and makes the game undesirable and leaves me discusted with the people responsible for this mess. it just seems like negligent game designing from the fat virgin game developers. i know its hard to make games and i accept inevitable flaws but with this aspect simply is unacceptable. sry ithis is kind of a vent to stop me from filling my game case with anthrax and resending it back to their studio with a **** u note attached to it. they made mass effect 2 one of the best games ever and to see this is just pathetic. just laziness and ignorance.|||Try it with different companions and try it on easy,it worked for me.

    Dragon age 2 help!!!!!!!!!!!?

Just one week ago i completed Dragon age origins and it is fantastic so i bought Dragon age 2 and i played for nearly 4 hours and every bit of the game play and every thing that RPG needs are completely simplified which i don't like.Even the combat is less tactical i can defeat enemies in higher difficulty easily.

Does the games go better afterwards or it remains the same?|||I don't know if this was a glitch or not, but I played with Hawke as a mage, and 70% into the game, I couldn't die! I died once, then was resurected by Mirren, and never lost less the three quarters of health for the rest of the game. I beat it so easily, I drove straight to Gamestop and traded it. Very disappointing.

I want to get the CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 5216 Desktop because it's obviously cost-effective and it seems to be pretty okay. But what I wanted to know is if this computer can stand playing Dragon Age 2 on medium or high (preferably the latter). Please list other alternatives along with your answer, my budget is 1000. I don't care about audio and will only be doing low-key stuff on the Internet, so that's not a priority.

Thanks in advance!|||That is in no way suitable for gaming unless you intend on getting a better graphics card to go with it, in which case it will be good enough.

I have some questions about Dragon Age 2;a moment of your time?

I've just recently completed Dragon Age 2.

It felt so awfully short! I'm left wanting more. I really enjoyed it.

So, in my endeavour in doing more, I ask these questions:

Is Mark of The Assasin on Xbox 360?

How do I recruit Isabela and Sebastian?(I was really frustrated when I learned I had missed these two)

Is it possible to get different clothes for your companions, or was that just a mod I saw? I watch DanaDuchy's channel on YouTube often, and she had most of her party wearing cool dark robes and things lol(I love Fenris' high-collared suit).

I apologize for the barrage of questions, but I would be extremly grateful if they were answered! :)|||MotA is downloadable content, available on ANY console. You'll need a net connection for your Xbox, and money/points/credits (whatever Xbox uses) to pay for the download of the game, which isn't that much. When it downloads, install it, and enjoy :)

There is also Legacy, another DLC you can get, which came out just before MotA.

Isabela is in the Hanged Man during Act I, keep going back after every few quests, and she should be there. Complete the quest she asks you to, and she will be recruited.

Sebastian needs to be downloaded. He is part of the Exiled Prince DLC, which came free with the special edition of the game, but you can download him and his quests just the same as you do with MotA and Legacy.

Putting companions in different clothes are to do with mods, which are only available on the computer and not console. You can improve companion's armour, however, by finding improvements throughout the game. This gives them better specs, but the outfits do not change.

When you romance a character, their clothing also changes slightly. Fenris gets the Hawke/Amell crest on his belt and a red token around his wrists, Isabela's corset changes, Merril's armour changes, and Anders' robes become black (though I think this happens for Anders whether you romance him or not, as long as you complete his quest - not sure though).

As well, on MotA (haven't played it yet due to broken net connection), I'm pretty sure your party members wear fancy clothing (for reasons I'm sure are explained in-game) and so this is where you might have seen the high-collar suit. If so, you'll be able to enjoy it again when playing MotA as I think they're default clothing for all party members.

    Hope this helps!

Is Dragon Age 2 really awesome?

so yeah, this game disapointed me. overall it made for a fun playthrough, but a lot more could have been done with it. first of all, the elves looked mutated, possibly like Smeagol/ Gollum, it just seemed like an unnecesary and annoying change to me. secondly, the entire plot consisted mage hatred. when morrigan alluded to the change to befall the world in the witch hunt dlc, i thought "oh yay! another abomination that is going to try to destory mankind! stopping it will be just as fun as stopping the archdemon!" alas, i was disapointed. instead (spoilers) there was a templar mage war which happened for, as far as i can tell, pretty much no reason. there isn't even a central antagonist, meredith and orsino can hardly even be faulted for their actions, and the arishok was just doing what his religion told him to. thirdly, what i found so fascinating about origins was the diversity in the locations. in dragon age 2, pretty much every dungeon, building, and mansion was structured the same; boring. since i just got done talking about the arishok, let's discuss the overpowered enemies. the arishok is an extremely difficult fight solo since just for attacking him while he is moving you get knocked back, and he possesses and extremely high health. on top of that, he has health potions! unfair... anyway that was just one overpowered one, i could probably think of more if pressed. my last major problem; the characters. very undeveloped companions, all focusing around the same concept; i help you, you join me, i help you again, you gain my respect. the origins characters were so much more in depth to me, even though each one pretty much had one quest but still. and the romances were pretty bad, but i won't go to deep into that one. one thing i did like about it was the new combat system, though the button mashing i found to get a bit old. anyway, i've given my opinion, i mean no disrespect to bioware or fans, feel free to comment and leave your opinions or criticisms.|||While I felt the environments were too similar I mean they used a few caves of the exact same structure like five times each. The plot could have used a bit of work but I thought it was easy to get into and passable, not good but passable. I liked the combat system though. I had fun with this one, had decent replay value and was overall a good game.

So, I downloaded Dragon Age 2 today, but unfortunately I can't play it. The game checked my system specs and put itself on high graphics, so there shouldn't be a problem with my specs. The problem is that when I try to play, the game will launch and run the title screen without a problem, but when I select new game, it loads for about ten to fifteen seconds and then just stops loading. Dragon Age 2 Mage Build Help?

I got Dragon Age 2 a while ago, but I want to make my mage... good. I bought a couple maker's sigh's but I can't figure out a good mage skill build.

So, here's what I need your help with: I need you to suggest/give me a link or just say what a good DPS mage build is.

I was Not so much DPS as high hits, but I also must have some blood magic ( I usually get grave robber.)

Right now I have, Tempest, Firestorm, Ice Cone for my AoE's. And Grave robber, telekinetic cage thing, and chain lightning for my 1v1 spells...

I want, Blood Mage Grave Robber (That's it for blood mage, but I want the upgrade with it as well.) atleast 1 - 2 AoE's, and the telekinetic cage. Because I've heard if an enemy has low enough HP when you use it, giant hands come down and rip him apart.

Otherwise that ^, Please tell me. I am lvl 15. (3 spec points and I think 17 or 18 skill points.)

Also, my stats, I have 27 WIL, and 27 MAG at least for my armor (Robe of Spiral Eye.) Also, I have about 18-20 CON.... My stats are screwed, please suggest that as well.

How do i run dragon age 2 better on nvidia cards?

I have an NVIDIA 465 and an AMD athlon x4 630 processor and am wondering whether the issues with the graphics in Dragon age 2 are hardware related. I'm unable to play the game with very high settings enabled, but I've read in forums of people with ATI 5700 series cards being able to. I have to run high with 4x AA just to get the framerate to stop being choppy. Any Advice?|||It could be related. You should really not be running dragon age 2 on nvidia cards. its crap

Dragon Age: Fort Drakon (Final Battle)?

I'm having a lot of trouble breaking in here.... I can't even get past the entrance. It's my first playthrough so I screwed up my characters' attributes and abilities and I turned down Morrigan's ritual so I lost all my aoe spells; I didn't train Wynne in any because I always had Morrigan in my group, and I have 3 other warriors in my group (probably a horrible setup but they were the only ones I felt I didn't screw up too badly) so I don't have a lot to work with here. My gear is okay, mostly tier 6 and 7 (dragonscale, legion armor, Yusaris) but I'm almost out of health and lyrium potions. Anyway, my group setup is Alistair, Shale, and Wynne.... any tips or bugs I could use to my advantage? The emissaries keep blowing my team up before I can take them down, I take such heavy damage that Wynne can't even keep up, and sometimes the little dragons don't even shatter when I Petrify-%26gt;Stonefist them and it's really irritating because not only does Wynne run out of mana 30 seconds into the fight, but she has less than 200 health and dies in about 2 hits (or some other team member gets Overwhelmed or fire-breathed on).

Frankly I'm not sure if I can take the archdemon. I was able to beat tough battles before after repeated tries (Flemeth and Cauthrien come to mind, the first few attempts I could barely shave off 10% from them) and I was able to take the High Dragon at the temple near Haven on the first try so I thought I was doing good and I didn't screw up my characters as bad as I thought but I guess I did.... and I'd really prefer not to accept Morrigan's ritual (doesn't fit in with the way I want to play my Warden) and fight all the way up to Fort Drakon AGAIN to potentially fail.

Am I out of options?|||WOW, sounds like you messed up with your group dynamics. it would help to know your group's stats and talents. I'm surprised that you relied on Morgan and decided not to cater to her u messed up when she joined your group then. My first play through i had a hard time because i made wynne a arcane warrior instead. however, i felt alistair and every other male in the game was weak compaired to the benefits and skills the women started off with. so i had me (i played a warrior/berserker/reaver lady), leliana (bard/ranger for extra summon for group), wynne (arcane warrior/spirit healer) , morgan (shapeshifter/arcane warrior) who used necromancing for extra member in group so i had a party of 6

Can anybody make potions/do you have enough to make potions? morgan did pots for me

Can anybody set traps/do you have enough material for traps? leliana did traps for me

it would help to get the armor from the forest when you had to kill remnants (once i got the set i didn't change armor for the rest of the game)

i would suggest using a "pull" technique where you send your strongest out to pull a few enemies and kill them (would work better if someone could make traps) leliana did this for me

or try splitting up except wynne have her attack with someone but ranged (if she has a staff)

Did you make leliana a hunter or whatever (sorry im sleepy n at work) she can summon a bear, wolf, or spider thats an extra member in your group.

how high is wynnes constitution (very important in this game)? just because she is a healer doesnt mean she doesnt need life. mana? wisdom?

keep trying i guess or have sex with morgan.

  • Can my Macbook Pro 13 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB RAM, 9400M Graphics card run Dragon Age: Origins?

Can it run it smoothly on high settings?|||Yes it can|||Well, my specs are a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 duo, 4 gb ram, and a "Intel 4500mhd graphics card"

I have one of the worst gaming graphic cards out there and i run the game at 1280x800 and textures at Max and graphic details at medium and im getting 20 fps. your computer has a better Graphics card then mine and should be able to kill that game.

Dragon age 2 Best settings to run on dx9 or dx11?

Well my pc can run this on dx11 but i was wondering whats the diffence. dx9 does it look better also can i run on high in dx9.|||DirextX (DX9 or 11) is the graphic technoloy for game for windows. 11 is the latest version and so would give you better graphics, more details, more realistic if you will. So of course if you can run Dragon Age2 with DX11 go for it ;-)|||The difference depend on whether you have Directx 10 or 11 hardware. DirectX 10 cards support some features of Directx 11 while Directx 11 cards fully support DirectX 11, as long as you're on Vista or Windows 7. Some of the improvements compared to Directx 9 are:

    - Better lighting

    - Buildings cast shadows on themselves

    - Hardware tesselation resulting in smoother landscapes

    - Spells, like fireballs, are a more realistic ligh source

    - Cloud shadows

Performance will take a hit, though. Some DirectX 11 features are in the demo but one of the devs said the demo runs on an old build and doesn't run as smooth as the retail version.

You can read about the technology of Dragon Age 2 on the BioWare blog.

    Part 1 (DirectX 9 and consoles) - http://blog.bioware.com/2011/02/16/the-t鈥?/a>

Part 2 (DirectX 10) - http://blog.bioware.com/2011/03/03/the-t鈥?/a>|||I'm not sure exactly what your asking, but if you can run it on high in dx11 you can for sure run it with the same settings in dx9. Since each ver. of directx looks better than the previous one, dx11 would be more visually appealing than dx9.

Dragon age 2 directx 11 not being recognized?

I installed dragon age 2,and wanted to run on very high graphics settings. It is greyed out and says that it requires directx 11, but when i run dxdiag my directx version is 11. how do i fix this?

    my specs

    gateway fx 6802

Nvidea Geforce gtx 260 (with latest driver)

    12 gb of ram

    Intel (R) core i7 cpu 920 2.67 GHz

    windows 7 64 bit

also, i have heard that this game doesn't run well on highset settings, what will i have to download to ensure that this game runs smoothly. I know my computer can run this game, it can run crysis and crysis 2 on max settings without any problems.|||Geforce 200 and 300 series are only direct x 10 cards.

Only Geforce 400 and 500 series cards support direct x 11.

There is no software option. You have to buy a new card.|||Having DirectX 11 installed doesn't magically make your video card capable of using it. The GTX 260 is NOT a DirectX 11-capable card. You'll need an Nvidia 400 series or higher or an AMD 5000 series or higher.

GPU 50 idle 70-75 ilde gaming good or bad?

gpu temp is 45-50 idle when i play games like mw2 re5 dragon age(highest graphics) it goes 70-73C but when i play the game hawx it goes almost 80 even when i lower my settings but anyway are these tempertures good or bad ? im kinda worried

    pc specs:

    MS-7519 (MSI Motherbord)

    Windows Vista Home premium 32bit

    intel e6300 @ 2.8ghz

    2gb ram

    MSI Nvidia Geforce 9500gt 1gb 128bit

Samsung 320gb hdd|||That's quite typical in high ambient conditions but there is room for improvement. Improve your PC case ventilation and you should be able to see significant temperature reduction.|||Typical temperature for this card is 55C idle, 65C loaded. So your temps do seem a bit high, but nothing to worry about.

    Dragon Age 2 weapon textures?

Does anyone know of a good mod to add high-resolution textures to the weapons in Dragon Age 2? I am not looking for the high-res texture pack. I found a great mod for land and building textures, and a good one for armor textures, but the only weapon mod I have been able to find makes most of the weapons look worse! This game is definitely lacking on the textures, and it would be nice to be able to replace the blurry, drab weapons with some nice, sharp ones (no pun intended).

Thanks!|||This site has Dragon Age 2 mods; http://www.gamefront.com/top-10-dragon-a…

    ズ丂╋乇????

?????????????????????????????|||The mod linked is not a mod that replaces the textures of weapons in the game, and this question is marked as "resolved' without ever being resolved.
