I am up to the part where I had to choose between "Templars" or "Mages" and I went with mages. But because I haven't got a high enough friendship with Fenris, I have to fight and kill him and I refuse to complete a game without a 100% fair ending without any of my companions killed. I don't have any quest left that I can take him on that might boost his friendship and now I'm stuck with the two options:
1# Play and kill him (Which I will not do)
2# Load a save and replay all of act 3 =/
What I want to know, is it possible to not fight/kill him without really high friendship?
Or is there some other way that I can befriend him?
Any help would be great, thx!|||I don't think it needs to be at quite 100. As long as either your friendship or rivalry is high enough you will get a dialogue option which will convince him to change sides. Just try to talk to him after he sides with Meredith and give him the line about slavery.
But, if you don't have it high enough for even that you will need to either side with the templars, kill him, or reload.|||The first play through, I don't think I had 100% rivalry with Fenris and found a second point after the confrontation with Meredith when the Chantry was destroyed. He leaves the party if I recall, then everyone regroups with the mages and Orsino tells you to talk to your people.
At 100% friend or rival, Fenris automatically supports you, regardless of your choice. At less than 100%, but high enough (I don't know how much enough is, I'm afraid) you can speak to Fenris and convince him that considering his feelings for slavery, he should help you fight to free the mages from a similar fate. That got him back in the fold and on the team for the last battles.
I've never been in the position that the relationship is so bad that I had to fight him. If that's the case, there is nothing else for it but to replay Act 3 and work on that relationship some more.|||2 is pretty much your only option.
Also, support the Templars when it comes to that time or he will likely leave you even if he does like you. Don't take him on any quests that involve you playing nice with mages...that doesn't mean you cannot be nice to them at all, just don't take him along if you do. You may want to flirt/romance him, too, in order to get friendship.
100% friendship is a very tall order. I wouldn't be so anxious to keep that. You can get some good rivalry bonuses. Also, the main theme throughout the game is betrayal and how it WILL happen whether you're nice or not.
