I heard dragon age cant be put on highest settings without dx11 but with dx9and10.1 will i be able to put it on highest available for those or can you only put on highest in dx11.Dragon age 2 dx9 question is highest settings only available for dx11?
If you have DirectX 9 you can only go as far as medium quality. At this point it is uncertain if DirectX 10 will allow the highest quality setting. Note that DirectX 10 cards support some features of Directx 11 and DX11 supports the highest settings. The developers have confirmed that DirectX 10 level cards won't support all graphical features.
I have played the ten minutes of the leaked German demo and DirectX 10 and 11 are disabled. It says on the menu DirectX 10 or 11 will unlock higher settings in the final game. From what I've seen medium settings in Dragon Age 2 are about the same quality as high settings in Dragon Age: Origins. It even runs a bit better.
